There are far too many people who choose not to floss. This is causing issues with their current oral health, plus it will have ramifications on their future oral health. There are a bunch of excuses for people who do not floss.

None of these excuses will help when your gums begin to hurt or when you begin losing your teeth, however. If you have ever heard of, or used, these excuses, it is time to come in and have your oral health evaluated.

Reasons People Give for Not Flossing

The most ironic excuse from people who do not floss is that it causes their mouth to bleed when they do it. This is a symptom of gum disease, which comes from not flossing. Come in and let us help get your gums healthy. That way, when you do floss, you won't bleed.

Another common excuse is that people do not have time. If you do not have about three minutes per day now to floss, how will you have hours of time to spend in our chair, repairing the damage caused by not flossing? Just some food for thought.

Flossing is too difficult, is another common excuse. If you are not quite sure how to floss right, ask us. Until you see us at your next appointment, use the flossing sticks that you can buy at the drug store. Flossing too little with a stick is better is at least better than no flossing at all.

Flossing is not difficult, it does not take a long time, and it will help to keep your mouth healthy. For help flossing, come in and see us. We will help you get your oral health under control, and we will show you what parts of your mouth have been affected by not flossing enough.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at (509) 590-1763 today.
